first ten names on the register of Tanjong Lobang

Many students came into our school in 1957 and a year later,they left .

1. Abu Kassim (born 1939) came from Malay School Pusa, Sarikei.
2. Anggas Timban, (born 1939) came from Beduru, Paku, Spaoh
3.Ismail bin Mohd.Sh Affendi (born 1939) was from Kampong Sakaan Besar Matu. In the register, he was registered as Arab
4.Mohad Nawi bin Chiri was born in 1938 and came from Kampong Hilir, Pusa
5.Stewart Ngau Ding was born in 1939 and hailed from Long Tebangan Baram
6.Patrick Rigep Nuek was born in 1930 and his address weas RC Mission, Bau.
7.William Tugang Dap was born in 1939 and he came from Rumah Nanga, Ullai Bayor
8Awang Ali bin Awang Lai came from Kampong Panakup Elir Mukar
9Foh Choon Yin born in 1937 came from Kampong Luak, Miri
10. Anyi Kebing born in 1944 came from Long Pilah,Baram

These ten were registered on 4th of February 1957 and they amongst several others left in Dec 1958 (according to the register)

In those days, the principal would lovingly record our names, by hand (in his beautiful handwriting) . Being a young little tyke it was good to read your name written by a white man in a little booklet called a REGISTER. You felt that you belonged and that you were officially accepted amongst the others. Little was I to know then that being accepted was going to be a life long psychological and social journey.

For this posting I would only put in 10 names. More to come.
