Thaddeus Demong

It is a wonderful feeling to know that one of your beloved seniors have made it in the world.

This is just to let you know that somewhere in Canada, there is a Dr. Demong, from TLS! Check it out. and I hope he does not mind I put him in my blog...

Dr. Demong
The most important decision you will make when undergoing Surgical Vision Correction is the selection of your surgeon. At Demong Associate Eyecentre, your surgeon is Dr. Thaddeus Demong, fellowship-trained corneal and refractive specialist. For over 20 years, he's been performing corneal and other refractive procedures, and since 1991, he's helped thousands of people see well with Laser Vision Correction. Because he treats a full range of nearsightedness, farsightedness or astigmatism and can provide all levels of care, whether you require minimal routine follow up or extensive follow up care postoperatively, you'll be in very capable hands.
Dr. Demong has always been motivated to use technological innovations to extend his surgical expertise. When excimer laser surgery was introduced to North America in the late 1980's, he became one of the first 50 surgeons in North America to qualify as a Laser Vision Correction Surgeon, trained by a true pioneer in the industry, Dr. Marguerite McDonald. One of the developers of the technology, Dr. Stephen Trokel, was at his side the first day he performed laser surgery in his clinic. Since that time, he has continued to develop his technique and embrace technological advances. In fact, his is the only laser centre in Alberta to replace its laser five times as each new generation offers a greater level of precision.

I had posted a piece on Thaddeus, and had also talked to him on the phone about ex-Tanjong.

Hi! I have just stumbled on this blogg whilst looking for the new email address of PELI ARON. If anyone knows his email address (it used to be peliaron@hotmail.com as it was I that set it up for him in the first half of the 1990s - now history!! Your comments on school names are interesting. I am JOHN KENYON who was a volunteer (VSO)teacher at what we called SSS (Simmanggang Secondary School!). I visited Peli both in Penang and Sri Aman, thus meeting up with many ex students of those days in 1962/3. Hicks was the head there till early 1963, so I knew him - I see you mention him from a few years earlier. I hope to visit Sri Aman and Kuching again next year around March or May and would be glad to hear from anyone who I knew all those years ago. My last day in Kuching last visit was a sunday when I went to St Thomas' for the early morning service. Not only did I meet up with an old friend right on the entrance steps as I arrived, but 3 more came over to me in the service to say hello, including Lim Siew Lin and Dunstan Merlin. Such is the social magic of Sarawak! Anyone heard of a lady named PAT GEORGE? She was a teacher at SSS in 1963 from England (Colombo PLan) and fell off the map for many of us here in UK around early 1980s. I hear that the Sarawak Club in Kucjhing burned down last year and lots of memorabilia was lost. I shall try to bring with me next year a whole collection of black and white and colour photos that I took in 62/63 in the hope that some may be of value to somebody. Cheers John Kenyon
More anon.

Thank you. I am sure many of the SGSS students are around.

The Ex Tanjong students would like to organise a 50th Anniversary sometime in August.

But if you happen to come by Miri, we would be delighted to meet up with you. Email us.
